Ristorante Paoli
Ristorante Paoli – A beautiful and unique 18th century ristorante in Florence
Ristorante Paoli is conveniently located on Via dei Tavolini, half way between the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio. Being so close to these major landmarks this restaurant is really easy to be stumbled upon as it is within walking distance from the major landmarks in Florence. It not only offers exquisite food but also a unique and magical 1800s/1900s ambience that might be really hard for any other restaurant to match. In fact walking into this Florentine restaurant almost feels like stepping back in 1824 when it was first opened. Arches, chandeliers as well as ceramics, paintings and writings by well-known artists adorn the halls from floor to ceiling.
The smell of scrumptious local delicacies makes your mouth water instantaneously. If you are unfamiliar with the local delicacies or with the lingo (as the menu seems to be mainly in Italian!) the helpful staff will happily translate or recommend a dish for you. The choice is ample – from irresistible Tuscan salami, Parma ham and all types of local cheese to hearty vegetable pies, all kinds of pasta and risotto in rich tomato or creamy sauces, meats cooked in garlic, herbs and wine as well as fresh Mediterranean fish according to the market. Simply divine! They most probably offer excellent desserts too but due to the very generous portions it’s extremely challenging to make it to that point!
Professional and friendly service is of course the cherry on the cake. The older and experienced waiters cheerfully have a chat with customers no matter how busy they are. They openly share life experiences and local knowledge with you and this of course comes at no additional cost.
